SL70 – Silver Lake’s Newest Home Community

SL70 development

SL70 is building hype all on its own. SL70 is a housing development that is currently building 70 new and modern single-family homes. It is a housing project being taken on by Trumark Urban.

These homes are detached, three to four story homes that allows city living to take on an entirely new feel. The homes will come with two and three-bedroom options, and some will have rooftop access.

The homes will have between 1,200 and 1,500 square feet. They are rumored to be in the price range of upper $500,000s to mid $600,000s. Prices have not been confirmed yet and units will not go on sale until late spring of 2014.

SL70 Interior

The development is highlighting a unique living style – design-centric. Located on Glendale Boulevard and Clifford Street in Los Angeles, SL70 has been purposefully placed to enhance walkability.

Walkability is a major factor that Los Angeles dwellers seek. And SL70 has found a great location. There are restaurants, green spaces, retailers, and close proximity to desirable neighborhoods such as Los Feliz and Echo Park.

So what else is so unique about SL70 besides a hipster name and feel?

It is being built on the spot of Hollywood’s the first ever, permanent movie studio known as Selig Polyscope studio. While the studio has long since been gone, the Trumark developers have decided to honor the historic area by naming the development streets after Selig Polyscope studio.

The names of SL70 include:

  • Edendale Lane.
  • Fox Lane (after William Fox— purchased the Selig-Polyscope studio).
  • Polyscope Place.
  • Silent Era Drive.
  • Silent Era Road.
  • Selig Drive.
  • Tom Mix Road (after the actor/star in movie Westerns produced by Selig-Polyscope).
